A 30-year-old woman received a prison sentence for accusing her father, who funded her education abroad, of rape when he refused her financial demands.

Namyangju Branch of Uijeongbu District Court's Criminal Division 1, led by Judge Choi Chi-bong, sentenced her to 10 months for defamation, business obstruction, and insult.

The woman, referred to as A, made 11 online posts from May to June last year, falsely accusing her father of sexual abuse.

Her claims included ongoing abuse by her father since age four, her mother's victimization, a 30 million won settlement, and calls for severe punishment.

A revealed her father's identity and business, impacting his ability to operate.

She also falsely accused him of remarrying a woman he allegedly had an affair with in six other posts.

In February 2021, A sued her father for damages due to alleged sexual assault but failed to provide evidence.

In court, A maintained her claims were true, but the lawsuit outcome showed no proof of ongoing sexual assault by her father.

The court deemed A's accusations false, noting her financial support from her father and her demands for money shortly before the rape claim.

The court stated, "She spread falsehoods after being denied money, causing irreparable harm to her victims' reputations."

The court justified the sentence by noting her high reoffending risk and the victims' desire for severe punishment.
